For the record, I'd like this feature a lot. My typical workflow is like this: 1) Meet a new person via an email intro 2) Set up a video chat 3) After the video chat, I want to take notes.
I want that contact to be in Dex waiting for me right after the meeting, without me having to do anything. Anything else adds huge friction.
I don't really care if this means a lot of junk people get added to Dex, that's fine. I can just ignore them. The original import flow resulted in me having ~7000 contacts in Dex, and I imagine most people are similar if they import from Gmail. I am not interested in curating them, I will ignore the irrelevant ones and work with the ones I am interested in. It hasn't caused a problem so far.

Kevin Sun is it not already the case when we link a Google account ?
Kevin Sun
Jean Maynier: it is not. We choose not to do this since many users want to carefully curate their list of people in Dex. We are thinking about how we can do this for new users.

Kevin Sun: simple, 2 ways:
- you first add a setting to activate the feature, so only the users that want it can activate it. Then you scan and add all calendar and Gmail sender/receivers in a staging list.
- You allow the chrome extension to do that: on Gmail a button not only for the sender, but for all participant in a thread, on gcal a button per participant
